The Town of Harbour Grace informs residents serviced by the Old Southside Well that a non-consumption advisory is still in effect, due to a possible treatment failure with respect to Arsenic exceeding the Canadian Drinking Water Quality Guidelines.
All repairs have been made to the Old Southside Well. The Town awaits the results from the testing samples, which should be available soon.
Remember: Arsenic cannot be removed by boiling and cannot be declared safe to drink if boiled. Safe alternative sources of water should be used for drinking, cooking, and consumption (ex., bottled water or other sources known to be safe). This water can still be used for washing, cleaning, bathing, and other household uses.
The Town apologizes for any inconvenience.
