Message from the Office of the Mayor RE: Pirates to Pilots Festival 2025
On behalf of my colleagues on Council and all staff, I wish to say a sincere thank you to all that made the Pirates to Pilots Festival 2025 such a success. The elected officials of 2021 put a 10-year plan in place, and seeing the success of this event, which brought together all groups, organizations, and businesses to showcase our town—its past, its present, and its future—is a dream made possible by all involved.
We say a huge thank you to the organizing committee; the Board of Culture, Innovation, & Business Inc.; the Earhart’s 50+ Club; the Happy Feet group; the Civic Events Committee; the Harbour Grace Regatta Committee; the Harbour Grace Volunteer Fire Brigade; Terri Andrews and TaDa! Productions; the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #15; St. Paul’s Anglican Church; St. Joseph’s Church; St. Peter’s Church; the Knights of Columbus; the Conception Bay Museum; the Splash Centre; the Loyal Orange Lodge; the Coughlan United Church; the Barracks at the Admiral’s Marina; the Masonic Lodge; Zumba with Rosalie Morrissey; Yoga with Jen Ellsworth; and anyone else we may have forgotten. Because of you, we continue to grow and to see pride in our town, with renewed enthusiasm and support from all residents. Thank you!
As you plan for next year, we look forward to an even better year showcasing our town to all as we realize the value of one, the power of many. Thank you for all you have done to help make our town a great place, our Harbour Grace.
Keep up the vision.
Sincerely,
Mayor Don Coombs
