Now accepting entries for our summer Conservation Area photo challenge!
Here’s how it works. You might have heard about our three new info brochures on birds species of the Harbour Grace Conservation Areas: (1) Ducks of the Harbour Grace Estuary; (2) Seabirds of the Pirate’s Path Coastal Area; and (3) Forest Birds of Bannerman Lake. Inside each brochure, you’ll find a checklist of six common bird species in each Conservation Area (for a total of 18 bird species across the three brochures). Capture a photograph of a bird species included in these brochures and email the picture to [email protected] to be entered in a prize draw.
Each photographed bird species counts as an entry, which means that if you complete the three brochures, you could have eighteen chances to win! The contest winner will be randomly drawn from the entries submitted. The best picture will be featured in the fall edition of the Heart of the Harbour newsletter and also eligible for a separate prize.
When emailing your entries, please indicate “Conservation Area Birding Photography Contest” in the subject header. In the email body, please identify the bird species in the photograph(s). And don’t forget to attach your photographs to the email!
Printed brochures can be picked up at the Town Hall, 112 Water Street, Harbour Grace, NL, or downloaded online at the hyperlinks above.
