Notice from the Eastern Regional Service Board (ERSB) RE: Waste Recovery Facility Access Cards
ERSB are introducing access cards for all waste recovery facility users.
Beginning April 1, 2025, an access card will be required to enter any ERSB waste recovery facility.
Apply today and get started before the grace period ends on March 31, 2025.
Key Information:
• One card, per household, will be provided free of charge.
• There will be no disposal fee for dropping off acceptable waste when using the ERSB access card.
How to Apply for Your Access Card:

- Submit your completed form by email to [email protected], along with a proof of identification and address (e.g., photo of driver’s license or any other government-issued ID).
Processing Time: Please allow four to six weeks for application processing once all required documentation has been submitted. This does not include mailing time as all access cards will be sent by Canada Post.
Incomplete applications may result in processing delays. If additional information is required during the approval process, you will be contacted by email.
Please note that once your card has been approved, its delivery by mail is subject to Canada Post’s service delivery timelines.

How to Use Your Access Card:
At the facility gate:
• The Site Attendant will scan your card to verify user.
• The materials will be logged, and you will be directed to the appropriate area for unloading.
• Each access card permits up to 16 visits per calendar year to waste recovery facilities. (No change from current policy.)
Lost or damaged cards? Replacements are available for $10, with all data transferred to your new card.
ERSB terms of use
• A limit of 16 visits will be permitted to any facility in a calendar year
• Gates will be closed 15 minutes before the facility closes
• ATVs and double axle trailers will not be granted access to waste recovery facilities
• Material must be separated onsite and offloaded by hand
• Commercial vehicles will not be permitted onsite
• Commercial waste will not be accepted
• For safety of children under the age of 16 please ensure they remain within your vehicle while onsite.
• For safety of the general public and staff please ensure animals are secured within your vehicle while onsite.
